an idiom that means you have a problem

After twenty posts, alpacinoutd, you still haven't made it clear (to me at least) what it is you're trying to say here.

You want an idiom (are you sure that's what you mean?) that means something as vague as 'have a big problem'?

Also, your example of the neighbours is not good. What on earth do you mean by 'bad neighbours'? In what way are bad neighbours a big problem? This whole thread is too problematic to answer properly, in my opinion.
 
A nasty boss/bad neighbour would makes one's life miserable.

Does it have to be an idiom to describe the situation?
