1) I have to appear at the examination in November.

2) I have to seat for the examination in November.

3) I have to take the examination in November.

Of the above sentences, which should I write?
 
First, please tell us what you think is best.
 
I think[no comma here] 2) [STRIKE]should be[/STRIKE] is the best.
No – 3) is best.

You can sit an exam in British English, but not 'seat for' it.
