It's just a question I'm asking my friend what she does at her shop. I say:

What kind of work do you do for/at/in the shop?

Are all three okay?

I could use for the shop if the person didn't work directly for the shop but had been engaged from outside to do something- a consultant, for example.

What if she's the shop owner? I'm wondering if she owns it when does she do for it then? Wouldn't she have employees?

I work at a shop. I work in a shop. A friend of mine works for the same shop. My friend doesn't work in the actual shop building. She handles our social media and she works from home but she still works for our shop.
