Hello teachers,

My vocabulary is pretty limited so I now I am try to improve it. Some people recommended me that reading is good aid to improve the vocabulary. But reading books like novel that have a number of pages makes me feel bored. So I am looking for a book which is interesting and good to improve our vocabulary. Are comic books good for that? Or as teachers what books do you recommend to read?

Thank you.

You should read things that interest you. Comic books will have a lot of non-standard dialogue. If you choose to read them, please don't post 50 questions asking why people said something that doesn't seem correct; it's probably not correct.

If you like sports, read the sports section of an English-language newspaper.
If you like movies, read movie reviews.
If you like music, find biographies about your favorite musician. (Don't use song lyrics - please!)

Your advice is very useful. Thank you so much Barb. you know! I have just downloaded few comic stories. But now I realized that they don't help me because I don't want to learn non-standard English at all. I will follow your advice.

I think newspaper would be the best.
