Recently it's reported that the surface (skin) of some imported cherries is tested postive of the COVID virus and the price of cherry has dropped sharply.

Today my mom said she wanted to buy cherries and my father asked her in Chinese (I translated into English) "Aren't you afraid of the virus?"

Is my sentence natural?

Yes, it is, but your preamble needs a lot of work.

Buy more cherries! You can't catch the virus by eating it.
