Hello,

You'd decided to learn new skills in an unknown domain, but it turned out to be not that easy, and you're now struggling with a basic exercise. Despite the fact that you're experiencing a lot of difficulties, you ought to solve the problem presented in the exercise. When you're done with it, you will have to assess the amount of time you needed to complete the task. This will allow you to make further decisions concerning your future in this sphere.
(The sentences are mine)

Is 'assess' the right verb for the contex?
Can both 'needed' and 'need' be used in the penultimate sentence?

Thank you

The feedback that I received didn't really clear much up for me.

All you have to do is look at the clock before you get started and again after you finish. There's not a lot of assessing going on. Also, notice the word I used. We finish a job, task or assignment.

Thank you. I'm not sure whether I understand the second part.

What's hard about that? When you have completed a job, task or assignment you have finished it.
