Hello,

I have a question concerning the phrase "in stark contrast". I'm writing an essay and I'd like to say that: "the approaches adopted by the academics are/stay/stand in stark contrast to/with each other". Which version is correct? Thank you in advance ;)

are/with

Unless you have already identified a specific group of academics (so you would use an adjective or other qualifier) the article is not needed before the word academics.
