In any gambling game if you "beat the house" you win. In blackjack, a gambler can win by the count of his cards being higher than the count of the dealer's cards. In blackjack, the count of each card is the number on the card (threes are counted as three, fours are counted as four and so on). Jacks, queens, kings, and tens all count as 10 and the ace can either count as one or 11. The highest number one can get is 21 (sometimes blackjack is called 21). If your cards count over 21 you lose, or bust. What is the meaning of beat the house in blackjack playing?
