What is the difference between the two below?

It begins on Friday.
It begins from Friday.

Or does the second one sound wrong?

But this one sounds OK, doesn't it?

The rainy season begins from July.

Why do you think 'from July' sounds fine whereas 'from Friday' doesn't?

I don't think starts from July sounds fine at all.

In Japan, the rainy season begins in June.

Is this grammatically correct?

Yes! It certainly is.

For your information, that example of rainy season was from here:

Weather in Guam Island

So you don't think it's written by a native speaker of English?

"The rainy season runs from June to September." is OK. But not "begins from..."

The website company is in India. So this may be a regional variation, or it may be simply wrong. It certainly seems wrong to American and British ears.

Weather in Guam Island

[not a teacher]

Even the title sounds wrong to me.

Either
Weather in Guam
or
Weather on Guam Island
