Hi,

My dictionary defines "ripper" as below:

n.
One that rips.

One who commits murder with a knife or similar sharp object.

Slang One that is an excellent example of its kind.

Bear Crawls will humble the so called fit person. Bear Crawls go so far beyond what most other exercises can do. Bear Crawls are a
complete body ripper.[/QUOTE]

Does "body ripper" mean to exercise every muscle of body?

I suggest that it means if you do this, your upper body will be "ripped" which means you'll have clearly defined muscles.

Mike may not be used to vocabulary used to describe hot, muscular but still lean males (usually males) where you say "he's ripped." Matthew McConaughey (sp??) comes to mind as someone I'd say was ripped.

Aside from "Jack the Ripper" I have never heard "rip" used to describe killing with a knife.

Yes, Jack the Ripper sort of cornered the market on that expression.

Shhhh. I'm remembering Magic Mike. Don't disturb me.

Thank you, everyone.

So rip here means to rip the fat.

If I am wrong, please correct me.

I don't know why the word "ripped" became used as an adjective to describe someone with a well-toned muscular body. I don't think there is any literal meaning about "ripping away" the fat.

You will also hear "shredded" to mean the same thing.
