Hi guys,

Please tell can we say "He was born 6 years after I had born".

If you know it's "He was born", why would you think that the first person singular would be "I had born"?

So what would be the correct formation?

Why don't you think about it and try again?

He was born 6 years after me. Is there any rule that we cannot use "Had done" for the first person?

If the past perfect is possible, it should be 'had been born' instead of 'had born'.

Not a teacher.

Please answer my question also.

Matthew did answer it.
I was born.
I had been born.

Those are the simple past and past perfect forms.

But as Ray points out, there is no need for the past perfect in this sentence.
He was born six years after me.
He was born six years after I was.
He was born six years after I was born.

"I wish I had been born after him."
Is the past perfect needed here?

"I wish I were born after him" would also be fine, but I would probably use "had been" there.
