Hello
I have a problem with the words 'bought of'. I need to fill in an invoice/Cash sale book and in part of it I have two blank spaces to write my name and my clients name. My question is, should I write the client's name after the words 'bought of', or should I write my name there?
Thank you Norian

Welcome to the forum, millsart.

That's a very dated expression to see on invoices these days.

If you have to use it, your own name goes after it.

'Bought of' is not correct. You can say 'bought/purchased by'.

The dated expression "bought of" means "bought from," and the seller's name is listed after it.

This is exactly the opposite of "bought by" which would have the buyer's name listed.
