1. It looks like a used item. The book was found to be damaged, with bumped corners and edges, and the dust jacket became worn down and torn.

2. It looks like a used item. The item shows moderate wear and tear. It has bumped corners and edges, and the dust jacket was found to be creased and torn.

Which sentence is grammatically correct and appropriate one?

Surely, it is a used item. It is not in perfect condition.

Would please tell me which one is grammatically correct and appropriate one?

Suggestions.

I think you can replace "was found to be" (in both sentences) with "is".

Note my corrections above. You started with the present tense ("It looks") so it's more natural to continue in the same tense. I'm not sure why you kept using "was found to be". What is the context for these sentences? I don't find "bumped" natural there. I can imagine what you mean, and I admit I can't think of the appropriate word, but I don't like "bumped".

I have reworded the sentences as follows. Please advise if this is worded correctly.

It looks like a used item. The book delivered is damaged, with bent corners and edges. and the dust jacket is creased and torn.

If you paid for a new book you should return it.

Here's what I would write:

I ordered [name of book] on [date] and I was under the impression it was new. However, it was delivered on [date] and when I opened the package, I discovered that the book's corners were bent and the dust jacket was creased and torn. I believe that I have been sent a used/second-hand item. Please advise how I go about getting a refund for the book. I have attached photos of the book so you can see the condition it was delivered in.
