Dear Teachers

Could you please help me out here?

1) She can read already.
2) She can already read.
3) She already can read.

Do they all have the same meaning and are they all grammatically correct? I hear people using the first and second sentences quite often but not the third. However, the third seemed to satisfy the grammar rule of putting already before the verb.

Thank you.

They are all correct and mean the same.

As you say, #3 is less commonly heard.

Thank you.

Sophia, there is no need to write a new post just to say "Thank you" or to quote our replies back to us. It makes us think there is new information or a follow-up question and we spend time opening the thread. Sophia, there is no "rule" about putting "already" before the verb.
