[General] Can I repeat the same word two times in a sentence?

...this is the reason why I blame myself about it and keep on promising myself that will find a solution to improve the situation.

OR

...this is the reason why I blame and keep on promising myself that will find a solution to improve the situation.

Does it sound natural in EN if I repeat the same word two times? It sounds a bit weird to me, but the secon example does not sound correct either.

Would be nice if someone could help me.

I prefer the repetition of "myself".
