Can we escalate or expedite a matter? Or Can we escalate or expedite a matter to someone? Examples are as follows:

1) You haven't finished the processing of the claim in six months. Now you need to escalate this claim and process it as soon as possible.

2) You haven't finished the processing of the claim in six months. Now you need to expedite this claim and process it as soon as possible.

3) You haven't finished the processing of the claim in six months. Now you need to escalate/expedite this claim to your manager.

4) Expedite this issue and we want results in six months.


Are these sentences correct?
 
In what dictionary have you found a definition of 'escalate' which means 'speed up the process of', as 'expedite' does?

I didn't find the meaning in any dictionary. I heard these sentences. Could you please set me straight on this?
 
Don't use escalate ​here.
 
"Escalate" is used in some business contexts to mean "I'm telling my higher-ups and they're going to complain to your higher-ups."

It is a way to draw attention to issues that are not being resolved in a timely or satisfactory manner.

So it is wrong to say "Escalate this claim. It has been pending for years". Am I correct?

Can we say "You are not doing anything. I am escalating this issue and you will see what happens then"?

"Expedite this claim because it has been pending for months" or "You need to expedite this issue it is not being resolved". Are these correct?

It certainly sounds odd in BrE to me.
 
You don't have to say anything — it's not your problem. According to post #3, it's just something you heard.
