cannot be too careful about your children's safety

This type of expression is translated as "Even if you care about your children's safety too much, that's not enough", and can you tell me how this "cannot...too" has such meaning?

ex)You cannot be too careful about your children's safety.
 
It means that there is no such thing as "too careful."
 
It seems to encourage you to be always careful as far as you can, but how come such "no such things as too careful" means a positive meaning?
 
It's hyperbole. You could keep your child indoors, away from the sun or any sharp objects and wrapped in bubble wrap. But that wouldn't be a very good life.

But, in general, people don't like to have children come to harm, so taking all available measures for children's safety is a good thing.
 
Okay, hyperbole explains everything, so it means however hard you may try, it's not enough, so do as extremely as you can. Okay, I got it, thanks!!!
