Catch Up Time

I have a question about the usage of the phrase "catch up" here:

Captain Patrick S. apologises to passengers for a 26-minute delay in take-off and says they will try to catch up the time during the flight from Barcelona to Duesseldorf, Sunday's Bild said.

Is "catch up the time" standard English? I cannot find a good dictionary definition that fits this usage.

Yes. It means 'make up time' following a late take-off.

The definition of catch up is the actions completed to get back on schedule.
