I have a basic question.

I am not very clear about the using of Clear and Clean.

What are the important differences between the two words? Whether these two words can be replaced each other in some cases?

Thank you for your time and help.

Yu

What sentence do you want to use one of those words in?

The room is clean. (It's not messy. It's tidy.)

The road is clear. (There are no impediments on the road. Nothing is blocking traffic.)

I wouldn't use "clean" to mean "tidy" when talking about a room. If it's tidy, if it's tidy. If it's clean, it's not dirty. We have no idea if it's also tidy.

These two words have quite distinct meanings. Try looking in a dictionary for definitions and examples.

I have a feeling that AmE speakers might say "Clean up your room" where BrE speakers would say "Tidy/Clear up your room".
