What is "Clinical performance" in terms of sports. I read it in a newspaper but couldn't understand what it meant there.

It's used quite a lot by tennis commentators (the only sport I watch). If someone wins relatively easily, with barely any mistakes and, for some players, without much discernible emotion, it could be described as a clinical performance.

A clinical performance might not have that much excitement or raw emotion, but it gets the job done in an efficient way. I wouldn't use boring.
 
An American commentator might say "They put on on a clinic" suggesting that they were so were so good they showed the other team how it should be done.
