Recession did not have much impact "on" India. This sentence is from today's news paper. The preposition "on" is correct or not?
 
Recession did not have much impact "on" India. This sentence is from today's news paper. The preposition "on" is correct or not?

(1) I believe that "on" is the correct preposition:

The world-wide recession has not had much impact on [the economy of]

India. (I think "impact" collocates with "on.")

I agree, but it could also be written as below, meaning the impact on the people of India.
"(The) Recession did not have much impact in India."
