The second version is correct, though not colloquial.

A native speaker would say

'Zora’s lemon tree produces too much fruit, so she gives them away to her friends and neighbours.'

Note that a better title for your thread would have been Zora’s lemon tree.

I might have said "Zora's lemon tree produces too much fruit -- therefore she gives them away to her neighbors."
