How would you interpret 'critical ideas'? What do you think it means?

Just to show how important context is, it's worth mentioning that my initial contextless thought was of a totally different definition from the one suggested by Chicken Sandwich.

I don't have context for that one and I'm at a loss, so I asked the question.

So let me ask this way.

Is there any other way to interpret it than what CS suggested?

"Critical" can mean "Very important" or "crucial." Like "reducing entitlement costs is critical to the health of the economy."

Or it can be like a movie critic and his critical ideas about how to improve a film.

That's how I understand it at first.

So it's quite ambiguous as a stand alone phrase. Good.
