Hello.

What is another word instead of dark brown I can use to describe the color of person's eyes?

Can I use "dusky brown"? Is that strange? I mean if I say "my wife has dusky brown eyes", would people find that weird?

Chestnut is appealing.

Chestnut is medium reddish brown, not exactly dark brown. For example, you describe the eye colour as dark brown, but not chestnut.

I would lay off dusky for the reasons I gave in your other thread.

I recently bought a couple of dark brown chairs whose color was listed as "coffee."

I think one could speak of "coffee-colored eyes," i.e. eyes the color of coffee.

'Molasses' if they're a very dark brown. Depending on the variety of molasses, it could be confused for black, though too.

Google Images suggests that dark brown is the one they use.
