[Grammar] definite article with "education"

Is it correct to write:

"Media literacy is part of the education." ?

How could I improve this sentence?

If you write the education, you have to tell the reader more. For example, you could write ...the education of modern students. I suspect you meant to write Media literacy is part of education, meaning "education in general".
