Dear experts

What does the following mean:
The end-of-module assignment is based on the whole module, and takes the place of an examination.

Does it mean that statement mean that there is not going to be an exam - just an assignment?

Thanks

You have two subjects in that sentence! Use either "it" or "that statement", not both.
