Recently, I watched a video about a child asking her father to hold her. The child felt tired and didn't want to walk, so she pretended her ankles broke to make his father hold her. Of course, her father knew her tricks but he found her daughter's acting funny, and he was still willing to hold her. It reminded me of my childhood. I acted too. Every time my mum go shopping, I would pretend I had a stomachache while I was waiting outside the stores. I didn't like to wait so long!

Recently, I watched a video about a child asking her father to hold her. The child felt tired and didn't want to walk, so she pretended her ankles were broken to make his her father hold her.

Of course, her father he knew her tricks but he found her his daughter's acting funny, and he was still willing to hold her.

It reminded me of my childhood. I acted too. Every time my mum go took me shopping, I would pretend I had to get a stomach ache while I was waiting outside the stores. I didn't like to wait so very long!

I think "pick her up" or "carry her" would be better than "hold her" in this context.

I forgot to mention in my last post that I don't think the child pretending her ankles were "broken" is very likely. If you break an ankle, you actually break/fracture the bones in that joint. Was the child actually simply pretending that her ankles hurt very badly for some reason?

I think "pick her up" or "carry her" would be better than "hold her" in this context.

Or you could combine the two thusly:

She tried to get him to pick her up and carry her.

Fascinating, I'm sure. However, since the audio and subtitles are in Chinese, I have absolutely no idea if the child claims to have broken both her ankles.

I was impatient and didn't like waiting.

The little girl does walk rather oddly in the video. The big smile on her face does indicate that she got what she wanted.
