The Japanese exam date is close so I've been doing exercises intensively, hoping to pass the exam. Actually, I haven't learnt the last six chapters which are included in the exam scope, but still I've done a mock exam to see if those chapters are needed to pass the exam. Unfortunately, I've failed, which means I need to study the complete scope.

I'm surprised you hadn't already worked out that failing to study six chapters of material that you knew would be in the exam would result in your failing the exam.

Total is 25 chapters, so I thought ignoring the six chapters might only earn me a low score. I didn't expect it to be a fail.🙈

Well, now you know!

By "scope" do you mean the things the exam covers?

As emsr2d2 showed you, it’s called the syllabus.

A better title for the post would have been "My Japanese exam".

I disagree. We ask all users to use an excerpt from the text they're asking us to look at as the title. The first four words of the OP's original text were "The Japanese exam date" and that's what they used as the title. The opening was changed to "My Japanese exam" only in my post #2.
