What is the meaning of

1- It takes a lot of confidece.

2- grand statement of...

in this the following context:

"I think a room like this takes a lot of confidence. It's a grand statement of where you're going to get dressed in the morning or take your bath."

How can a room takes a lot of confidence? and how it's a grand statement of where you get dressed????? :shock:

I got your point, but again I still can't get "takes a lot of confidence"? "confidence" here refers to who? the room or the person? :-?

"Being in a room like this makes the one feel so confident. changing one's clothes in it or bathing in it in the morning will have an impact on their personality."

I think that you must be very confident in your taste to have a room like that because it is so outrageous/luxurious/glitzy/ostentatious/daring that you will certainly receive a lot of criticism.
