What does a dictionary suggest?

The most common translation would be "predict" but I find that word boring that's why I want to use an alternate term.

Definitely vaticinate. You'll impress the attractive cashier girls.

Did you translate this sentence from another language? If so, you would be better off posting it in the Other Languages section and telling us what language it was originally written in. That way, people who speak that language can help you to make the best and most natural translation.

Or at least the alien-human hybrid girl. Warning, she probably only wants your seed, not your vocabulary, and will kill you after mating.

You'd more or less be living the plot of the film Species.

If you want to attract hot young girls, be sure to avoid all the 'boring' words, such as predict. Yawn.

No Frank, it has nothing to do with attracting girls, it's just that when you always use the same old "boring" words, then you'll never make too much progress in improving your language skills.

A key skill in using a language is to craft comprehensible sentences. That means you should avoid rare terms.

But the skill is to select the best word for the job, whether it's boring or not. The best word is hardly ever an obscure, outdated, highly formal, or highly technical one.

By the way, please tell us how you collect the options for your posts in the first place. Is it from a thesaurus or from a website?

I usually think about which terms I would use in other languages first and then I google for English translations.
