Teacher: John you haven't submitted your assignment yet.

John: Do I still have the time to do so? How much time was alloted? Is the time line still up? Can I still submit it?

Is it correct to say "Do I still have the time to do so" in this context?

How about this "Is the time line still up"?

Are you really suggesting that John asks all four of those questions all together in response to his teacher's statement?

Remember to include relevant punctuation inside quotation marks.

Note my corrections.

I'd delete the:

Do I still have time to do so?

John wonders whether there is still time, whether time remains, not whether there is still the time, or whether the time remains.

Why did the teacher ask the question? Is it past the time for submitting the assignment?

The teacher didn't ask anything. In post #1, the teacher makes a statement and then John asks four consecutive questions!

They didn't.
Sorry. I'll rephrase that. The teacher said, "John, you haven't turned in your assignment yet."

Why did the teacher say that. Was the assignment late?
