Which is correct in BrE? Is the meaning the same?

1. "I never play sports."

2. "I never play sport."

3. "I never do sports."

4. "I never do sport."

Not a teacher

As I know, 'do sport' = UK, 'play sports' = US, but I am not a native.
On the other hand, I asked the same question some time ago and someone told me 'play sports' is more common even in the UK.

To the best of my knowledge, [STRIKE]As I know[/STRIKE], 'do sport' = UK, 'play sports' = US, but I am not a native English speaker.
See above.

I would use 1 or 3. (BrE speaker, but not into sports)

I remember you asked a similar question some three years ago, Rachel.

Are you going over your old posts and want to learn more, or did you forget you've asked before?

You've only been a member here for two years, unless you were reading things on the forum before that. ;-)

Oops... I looked at Join Date instead of that dark blue heading above posts. Rachel joined the forum three years ago; the post I linked to was from 2020, one year ago.

I'll be crawling back to my hovel now.

Aha, which is why you remembered it.
