Reported speech

He said "Don't wait for me if I'm late"

a) He told me not to wait for him if he's late.
b) He told me not to wait for him if he was late.
c) He told me not to wait for him if he were late.

Are the three sentences above right?

You'll hear all three. a) is probably more likely is he hasn't yet been late (ie the expected time of meeting has not arrived yet). I prefer b) or c) in most circumstances.
