Are all of these pronoun dummy 'it'?

Some people like modern shopping centers because everything is under a roof and it is convenient.

Can we write the last sentence in this way?

You are right teacher. It was my mistake. In my book it is "one roof" instead of "a roof".
But in the book the last sentence is " it is convenience." and I don't know why? Is it wrong if we use " it is "?

I think you meant "convenient". In any case, and to lessen the confusion, please quote that sentence again, and tell me what you don't understand.

So in this sentence "it is convenient" , "it" refers to what?

I still think it's wrong. I suppose "it" is intended to refer to shopping in modern shopping centers or there's an implied (but omitted) "to shop there" at the end, in which latter case, "it" would be a dummy.
