I have tried to form a sentence about astronomy. Would you like to help me form it properly if it is wrong or odd?

1. "Earth is about 150 million kilometers away from the Sun."

Thank you.

I'd delete 'away'.

It's not wrong as written, but away isn't necessary.

Is the original, the 1, odd since the away part is not necessary and so overwritten?

Thank you.

I think the unnecessary word just makes it a little wordy but not odd.

The original is natural and common. It can be improved by removing an unnecessary word.

Thank you. I have no doubt for 1. now but would you natives evaluate 3.

3. Earth is about a hundred and fifty kilometers far away from the Sun.

I know there is a phrase as far away from but I don't know if it can fit here properly? So is 3 common and natural, or odd or perfectly wrong?

Thank you.

Same comment; omit 'far away'. You might be thinking of something like this:

"I want to be as far away from him as possible."

Your 3) is not 'perfectly wrong'. It just normally wouldn't be said.

Does this imply it correct but odd and not common, in another words, nobody would use it?

Thank you.

I disagree. It's ungrammatical and unnatural. We don't say that something is some distance far away from something else.

Do you say something is some distance far from something-labelled as 4-?

Thank you.

Can you think a different but natural and common way to explain this situation about astronomy, which I think exist?

Thank you.

Earth is one astronomical unit from the sun.
Earth is about 1.5 x 10[SUP]6[/SUP] kilometers from the sun.
Earth's distance from the sun ranges from about 147 to 152 million kilometers.

Why do you need more ways to say this?

Or you could say:

The distance between the earth and the sun is 150 million kilometres.

In the old money. ;-)

Is the part which I believe exists a parenthetical expression in "Can you think of a different but natural and common way to explain this situation about astronomy, which I think exists"?

Thank you.

I consider it parenthetical because the relative clause is non-defining.
