Good afternoon everyone,

The sentence in question is from the upper sub-heading of the following on-line article:


"Eight years ago, workers loudly protested White House policies."

Why doesn't the author use "against" after protest? is that correct?

"Eight years ago, workers loudly protested against White House policies."
