Dear Expert,

Please tell me the difference between "English expressions" and "Idiomatic expressions". Please give examples as well also guide the sources/links where I can find the list English expression only not the idiomatic expressions.

Michelle

An English expression could be any phrase, regardless of whether it is idiomatic or not, so such lists simply don't exist- try spending time with a dictionary.

"English expressions" are expressions in English, such as "Good morning".
"Idiomatic expressions" are expressions that are idiomatic, such as "C'est la vie" (which, incidentally, is French)
"Idiomatic English expressions" are expressions that are both English and idiomatic, as in "Stone the crows!"
