Hi,

I am unable to get the English word for something like if I squeeze the paper and make it into the ball for the purpose of throwing into the dustbin.

Thanks
Gauri

You "screw it up into a ball". The phrasal verb is "to screw up" (beware, this has other meanings).
I think you can also use "to ball up" in AmE.

thanks. I think Iif my intention is to throw the paper this way into the dustbin than it should be using the word "screw". But what if I an instructing kids for fun to use the paper to turn it into a ball. Can I still use the same word? or I can safely use the word "to ball up"......I have heard some other word for such things. But unable to recall. Please help me.

Thanks all. So I got two words which I can use for this purpose - "scrunch up" or "crumple".

It's good that we could help you. Please see my amendments in red to your post. It really is important to use correct capitalisation and punctuation in your posts.

thanks emsr2d2. I will pay attention to these things while replying. Thanks Gauri
