In a piece of news, it is said that "William Melchert Dinkel was accused of trolling the Internet for depressed people and then entering fake suicide packs or telling them how to kill themselves."
Here I'm not clear about the meaning of entering fake suicide packs. What does it possibly mean?

It should read "fake suicide pacts". A suicide pact is, rather unpleasantly, an agreement which two people make where they both promise to commit suicide, usually at the same time.

Mr Dinkel is alleged to have used the internet to find depressed people. He then befriended them online and pretended that if they committed suicide then he would do the same. He was lying - he had no intention of committing suicide, he simply got a kick out of the other person killing themselves with his support and help.

Thank you very much, emsr2d2. This is really helpful.
