Does it make sense to say "extinguished sense of triumph"?
Is this okay?
After she won the final game, an extinguished sense of triumph took her. She wasn't anywhere nearly as euphoric as she thought she would be. Overcome by an unexpected emptiness, Jessica walked off the court and went to the locker room.
If that doesn't work, what other word can I use instead of "extinguished"?
