Why is this sentence incorrect:
"I made it my prime objective settling the matter"
Thank you for your answer
 
"I made it my prime objective to settle the matter."
"Settling the matter was my prime objective."
 
Is it correct to say "I made settling the matter my prime objective"?
 
Yes, it is.
