I read an article and do not understand the meaning of "isnt too far off from the hype" in the following setence .

"Youve probably seen avocados being touted as a heart-healthy superfood in recent years. Realistically, the truth isnt too far off from the hype."

May I ask you : can I say " isn't too far from the hype " instead of " isn't too far off from the hype " ?
