Dear teachers
Are these sentences OK?

He killed the landlord, fating us all to go to jail.
He fated her to live alone after he started taking drugs.

These seem strange to me.

Fate as a verb does not usually have another person as its subject. I don't fate you. He doesn't fate her. Fate just happens.

She may have been fated to live alone, but he did not "fate her."
 
Right, if people could fate other people, fate would lose all meaning.
