Are these sentences grammatically correct and do they correspond to the given meanings?

1) They released new footage of him shot in the chest on the street.
(Meaning: They released new footage of him being shot in the chest on the street.)

2) I saw footage of John beaten up in front of a stadium.
(Meaning: I saw footage of John being beaten up in front of a stadium.)

I would take them both to mean that the footage was of the aftermath of the event. If the footage were of the event itself taking place, I'd expect "being" to appear in both.
