What does “give a place on the grid” mean?

I don't know offhand. Hopefully, context will tell you what the person means by that. There is "off the grid," which does mean something.

Clearly my original guess that it might be an American sporting metaphor was incorrect.

I think that it may be a reference to Instagram.

It may still be intended as a metaphor rather that a literally reference to their Instagram account.

Ah! They sometimes take photos of the books and put them on Instagram. Maybe they mean they want a place/grid for their books on the Instagram.

A grid is a network comprising infinite parts in various locations, as in the utility grids.
I think in this context it means whatever little space in a vast network.

That's her Instagram. She shares book review sometimes.

It's Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc. No "the".

She said that she's already shared her top 12 books in a podcast. She now wants to tell her followers about some more books she loves. If you imagine her original list of 12 books as a "grid" (like the screenshot in post #6), I believe she's now saying she wants to add some more books to that "grid".
