Hello there,
I came across a sentence and bit confused if it's correct. That sentence is:

If the rain doesn't go away, we will have to call the game off.

Shouldn't it be

If the rain doesn't goes away,......

Thank you for your help.

If the rain doesn't go away, we will have to call the game off.:tick:
If the rain doesn't goes away,......X

The auxiliary verb, if there is one, is the one that takes any endings or changes in form. In your sentence, DO is an auxiliary verb. Other examples:

I go - I don't go.......He goes - He doesn't go.
I worked - I didn't work.

Got it.

Thank you.
