I guess "we" as a pronoun is always plural. Is there in any case that we can say "how can we be a good friend?".Are "we" a singular friend?
So without the added "to someone in need", "How can we be a good friend?" is not acceptable?"How can we be a good friend to someone in need?"
I consider it acceptable in the right context. In that sentence, "we" can be used in the same way as the all-encompassing "one" or "you", simply meaning "someone" or "people".So without the added "to someone in need", is "How can we be a good friend?"isnot acceptable?
