Can someone explains why C. is wrong and B. is correct?

C. Sarah´s handbag had snatched

Sarah's handbag didn't snatch anything.

IMO, in certain contexts, B would be acceptable.

Is this the explanation for the correct answer? So, why the C. was wrong? Thanks in advances.
