The expression is "a violation of the rules".

I can think of no circumstances where you would use "violation to".

Thanks,
Is it correct to use in violation to

Best Regards,

Mohamed

Perhaps you could provide us with more details of why you want to use a non-standard construction.

Dear,
I sometimes come across sentences in the internet where " in violation to " is used and we discussed the issue with my friends who insisted that the usage of in violation to" is correct. Hence, I keep asking for more clarifications only to make sure and reflect the reasons.

Best Regards,
Satti

I don't know what else to say, compadre. An English teacher and two native speakers are saying that "a violation to" is unacceptable. I wouldn't wear yourself out trying to come up with a logical reason for the use of "of" instead of "to". Not everything in English makes sense.

Thanks
I would be gratefull if you provide me with more relevant details.

Satti

Certain prepositions go with certain words- there's no explanation, just a pattern which people follow.
