Are the following sentences in my response grammatically correct?

I sent a friend request to a stranger on Facebook, and he asked the following question?

Hi Farhan, Thank you for the friend request. I am curious what prompted you to befriend me? Wishing you health, joy and love. Jeanne.

My Response: Hi Jeanne, I am extremely sorry for responding late. Well, As to your question, your intelligent mind and your good looks prompted me to befriend you.

My first question is why did you send a friend request to a complete stranger on Facebook? ;-)

Is Jeanne male or female? You said "he asked the following question" so I assume Jeanne is male. If you are male, then be aware that saying "your good looks prompted me to befriend you" will make many people assume that you are romantically interested in Jeanne.

If you're happy with that then I would say "Hi Jeanne. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I decided to send you a friend request because your profile suggests you are intelligent and good-looking".

I'd drop the bit about good looks- it sounds like an attempt at a pick-up.

Is "Jeanne" ever a male name?

Not for me but I thought I would give the OP the benefit of the doubt given that he/she said "he asked the following question".

Farhan, for the second time, a better title would have been Facebook friend request.

Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'

Jeannot is a male name I've come across in France. I think it's quite old-fashioned. I think it's likely, though, that the OP mixed up "he" and "she".
